There's something about being hungover, sickly hungover, that gives me the munchies. I haven't been this hungover since I was underage and I never knew when sympathetic 21+ year old willing to buy me alcohol would appear again. This morning was marked by severe nausea, which was calmed by a Jimmy Johns Turkey Club,some jalapeno potato chips (yum!)and a nap. As my appetite has finally returned, I just scarfed down some bean and trout ravioli from the Farmer's Market. Ohhhhhmygosh they were delicious. It got me to thinking about the food bucket list I have for this upcoming year. I really want to:
1. Grow an herb garden. (basil, rosemary, thyme, rosemary, and mint)
2. Grow tomatoes, strawberries and lettuce.
3. Shop at the farmer's market as much as possible.
4. Make my own jam, pickles, kimchi, and tomato sauce.
5. Make my own pasta. (Especially raviolis)
6. Try out recipes and stop eating out so much!
I'm trying to allay my hunger by nibbling... and reading back issues of Bon Appetit. Oh I am such a food nerd. I found this uberchic and funkycool ice cream parlor mentioned in one of the magazines. Of course, they don't ship their products, but take a look at some of their flavors. I really want to try Pink Grapefruit Tarragon, Foie Gras, and Andante Chevre-Strawberry Jam. A trip to San Fransisco to visit Humphrey Slocombe may be in order. Totally adding that to my food bucket list.
I'm going to see Iron Man 2 tonight at Cinebarre. I'm anticipating some major snackage. I really want a milkshake and fries. Ooh a burger, too! I sound like a total fat-ass. Good.
