la jardinière

My little container garden is not so little anymore! My tomato plants have gotten HUGE. I even have two baby pea sized green tomatoes on the tomato plant to the left. My habenero pepper plant has little green buds now, too! I now have planted cucumbers (little pot to the right) and some sugar snap peas. In about a month I'll plant my arugula and swiss chard for a winter crop. Gardening has provided a way for me to calm down and breathe in the face of everything that is going on. All around me life goes on, gives me some hope for finding employment and paying rent.

In terms of the job search, I am still waiting for employment. A lot of people are doing what they can to help me out, and I am SO appreciative! My friend, India, connected me with her boss for a part-time wine sampling gig at Fresh Market. I have applied to be the Communications Manager at the YMCA and also for a position at a local law office, a position my friend, Mary-Beth, told me about. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for any and all of the positions!
