Happy (belated) Independence Day! I hope you celebrated your liberty, your freedom and your beloved America in an exciting fashion!
Last year, as was the case this year, I celebrated by going on a fishing trip off of the coast of Florida. I would not make a great sailor. Last year my seasickness arrived until after we were about 15 miles off shore. Allayed by Dramamine my nausea disappeared long enough for me to catch two fish. This year the nausea (and panic) hit while we were headed out of the inlet. I had already taken the Dramamine, but this year it did not do much good. Let's just say I chummed the waters for the majority of the trip to our fishing spot. I fell asleep in the sun and didn't catch a single fish.
So now, as a good girlfriend and not wanting to feel like a total mooch, I'm going to prepare some cold smoked Amberjack for later this week (something new to put on a bagel! yum!), roast a few Amberjack filets and try out a panzanella recipe for tonight.
By the way, I think I inherited my mother's green thumb! My sugar beans have already sprouted and are pretty substantial! I planted them last Wednesday, and it looks as though they sprouted pretty quickly. I may not be a water person, but the earth and I get along just fine ;)
